Marangaroo Golf Course is a Murray Dawson
design nestled in the heart of suburbia, the eighteen hole layout meanders its
way through a beautiful native bush land setting, measuring 5,616 metres (6,177
yards) off the back tees. The Course was officially opened by the City of
Wanneroo in 1988 and since then has become one of the busiest 18 hole public
courses in Perth. With the course being relatively short it fights back with its
tree-lined fairways, tight narrow landing zones and unforgiving deep rough.
Another Dawson inception was to make the greens smaller keeping the lower
handicappers on their game. With all four par fives averaging just 423 meters
and reachable in two shots for the solid ball strikers.
